INTELLIGENT FARMING SOLUTIONS
Choose the best farming solution for you and your land. Combine the highest possible yields with sustainability. This will start with the correct tillage. The choices you make depend on various factors and should match your specific circumstances, like soil structure, crop rotation, residue management, economic and ecological viabilities.
The choice is yours!
You must consider environmental and legal issues. From conventional methods to conservation tillage: the balance of operations at the right time has to be found to achieve high yields with the best soil condition (air, moisture, biological activity, etc.) with a minimum amount of energy, time and investment. For this, Kverneland offers a full range of intelligent farming solutions.
CONVENTIONAL TILLAGE
CONSERVATION TILLAGE
Conventional Tillage • Intensive method of cultivation
Mulch Tillage • Reduced intensity in terms of depth and frequency • More than 30% of residues are left on soil surface • Extended repose period of the soil • Cultivator and/or discs incorporate the crop residues within the top 10cm of soil for stable bearing soil • Full-width tillage - seedbed preparation and seeding in one pass • Protection against soil erosion; reduce soil loss by run-off and improve water storage capacity. • Improvement of soil moisture retention
Strip Tillage • Zonal strip loosening before or during seeding of up to 1/3 of the row width (Loibl, 2006). Up to 70% of the soil surface remains untouched • Strip-till combines the soil drying and warming benefits of conventional tillage with the soil-protecting advantages of no-till by disturbing only the area of the soil where the seeds are placed • Exact fertilising deposit • Soil protection against erosion and drought
Vertical Tillage / No-Till • Extensive method • Working soil vertically avoids additional horizontal layers or density changes • Increasing water infiltration, root development and nutrient take-up • Plants’ roots dictate the overall health of the plant, as they deliver nutrients and water throughout the season, contributing to a higher yield • A strong set of roots make plants more
• Complete soil inversion e.g. by a plough • Less than 15-30% crop residues left on soil surface • Seedbed preparation done by an active tool or special seedbed harrow • High phytosanitary effect by reduced pressure of weed and fungi diseases - fewer herbicides and fungicides needed • Better dry-off and faster increase of soil temperature for better nutrients absorption
resistant to wind and drought. • Lower energy input required

SPEED UP WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT HIGH CAPACITY AND PERFORMANCE
Speed After harvest, you want to get ready for the next crop immediately. Time slots are tight, so speed is important. You need a machine that has the right capacity to finish the job in time. Sustainability You want to encourage straw decomposition and maintain soil moisture. You establish cover crops for improved humification and the binding of Carbon Dioxid (CO2). Shallow stubble cultivation by discs with minimum soil disturbance protects natural soil structure, avoids erosion and supports biodiversity. Flexibility You want to be ready for all different tasks to be done in spring, summer and autumn season. Stubbling, seedbed preparation or cover crop seeding of conservation or conventional systems. Shallow and deeper cultivation, all alike, require excellent penetration, cutting and consolidation quality.
Strength You want a machine that lasts, that copes with the stress on the frame and discs over a long time. Cutting, incorporation and a good soil flow even with high amounts of residues such as maize straw require strength and durability. Efficiency You invest in the best equipment. In return, you want the best results and low cost of operation. The combination of high hectare output, strong performance over the entire working width with reduced lifting and pulling force requirement means utmost efficiency.
Incorporate straw, promote germination and reduce volunteer seeds.

OVERVIEW
3 STEPS FOR EFFECTIVE CULTIVATION
THE QUALIDISC CONCEPT
On farms the Qualidisc offers excellent performance at high speed. The range of operations is versatile from shallow and deep stubble cultivation (3-15cm), seedbed preparation after ploughing as well as for incorporation of catch crops due to the large conical discs and the high inter-row distance of 900mm. With the Qualidisc, you optimise the use of tractor horse power and maximise the performance at lower costs.
High quality soil cultivation.
Tillage The Kverneland Qualidisc Pro/Qualidisc 21000 T (ø 600mm) and Qualidisc Farmer/Qualidisc 1100 L (ø 520mm) offer two rows of discs at a distance of 25cm in the row which is providing an effective overlap of 12.5cm across the two rows for optimal soil coverage and residue incorporation. Each conical disc is heat-treated and mounted on a single arm with rubber protection, allowing lateral movements like a 3D auto-reset system. The high inter-row distance of 900mm ensures optimal soil flow, cutting, mixing and soil preparation, even with large amounts of residues such as maize straw.
Levelling The Kverneland compact disc harrows offer lateral side deflectors as standard. The side deflectors together with an optional pair of star discs (ø 600mm), one of each side, moderate the soil movement sideways and prevent ridges. An optional integrated finger harrow decelerates the soil flow and ensures that the roller achieved a perfect levelling and consolidation result. On ploughed land a hydraulic infinitely adjustable Clod Board can be mounted on trailed Qualidisc models for different conditions and tasks. The Clod Board in front increases the crumbling effect and ensures active levelling due to the high vibration of the cracker tines.

ADVANCED TESTING PROGRAM
Before the implements of the Kverneland Qualidisc Range were launched into the market, they had passed a whole series of tests to ensure the impeccable quality of the product.
• Sophisticated technologies are used for each development such as static load test, finite elements method (FEM) and shake-lifetime tests. • Tests in the field under different conditions to reconfirm that the requirements to all functions and strength are met. A strict list of requirements (LOR) is defined to meet all kinds of soil conditions. • Several speed trials, even close to 20km/h, show that a consistent cutting quality over the entire working width was always achieved and with impressive stability thanks to the optimised spacing between gauge wheels and rear roller The frame is a result of a long study made by FEM (Finite Element Method) calculation to optimise the steel over the working width and proposing a strong structure able to resist to tractors up to 650hp for the trailed model, up to 250hp for the fold version and up to 240hp for the rigid frame. The complete Qualidisc range has been designed to be combined with the Actipack roller, which is the heaviest. All the most aggressive scenarios (deep working when turning, headland turns, transport tests, etc.) have been considered to make the different frames as strong as possible and thus guaranteeing the proven Kverneland quality. The trailed Qualidisc models are extremely stable as they are equipped with a double suspension device that protects the frame from stress and tremendously increases the stability of the machine during work. Thus bouncing is prevented.

QUALIDISC 21000 T
QUALIDISC T IN 10.25 AND 12.25M WORKING WIDTH PREPARED FOR CONTROLLED TRAFFIC FARMING
Constant ground following over the complete working width, especially at shallower depths can be a challenge of larger implements in soil cultivation. Therefore, Kverneland arranged the new Qualidisc T model with four independently mounted frame segments including a “Ground Contour System (GCS)”. The result is an exceptional ground following performance. The pressure of the four frame sections can be adjusted pair by pair using the Ground Contour System to achieve constant pressure on each section. Compared to a system with accumulators, there are no pressure deviations in the working sections when, for example, passing a ridge. The set pressure is always the pressure applied to the soil to obtain a perfectly flat, worked soil layer and surface. The powerful Qualidisc T was developed to work at high speeds of up to 20km/h without compromise on working performance. Thanks to the optimised spacing between gauge wheels and rear roller high stability without jumping is ensured. The conical disc ( ⌀ 600mm) itself is the same as on the Qualidisc Pro models and ensured precise working depths from 3cm to 15cm. The high frame clearance ensures blockage-free cultivation even with a higher amount of residues like maize straw. The transport wheels are at the rear of the machine which give extra stability during transport and will be lifted on top of the roller to provide extra weight.

QUALIDISC 21000 T
QUALIDISC 21000 T
EASY TO USE, EASY TO ADJUST
Adapting the Qualidisc T with 10.25 and 12.25m working width to changing field conditions is quick and straightforward.
Maintenance and settings are reduced to a minimum. Depth pre-setting is simplified with scales mounted in the front gauge wheel and at the rear roller, conveniently located on the left-hand side of the machine where the operator exits the cab. Gauge wheels and the rear roller are adjusted separately to maintain the balance between the two rows of discs. Hydraulic steering from the cab allows easy depth adjustment on the go, requiring only a few seconds and no specialized skills from the operator. Connecting the Qualidisc 21000 T to the tractor is equally straightforward, requiring cross-shaft or fixe-eye just one double-acting valve for the transport wheels and one for functions like folding, headland lifting, another in load sensing or continuous flow is needed for the working section pressure adjustment to ensure optimal ground contour following. Headland-Management Turning at the headland is easy. The implement turns on the front gauge wheels and rear roller. The four front wheels (400/60-15.5) offer exceptional flexibility, capable of swiveling 360°, allowing for tight turning maneuvers of 180° even with the large working width.

CONSTANT CUTTING DEPTH
WITH FLAT BOTTOM PROFILE
The Qualidisc can be distinguished by a unique feature: it has a flat bottom profile even at shallow depth thanks to the well-studied disc angles and the high speed capacity.
Full-cut bottom profile at shallow depth.
Lateral adjustment on Qualidisc Pro models In order to maintain a good cutting quality, the disc rows of the Qualidisc Pro can be adjusted to each other because the size of the discs is important. This ensures that the compact disc harrow always cuts the soil over the entire working width and the wear of the disc can be compensated even up to 30% less diameter . A scale indicates the adjustment value according to the disc diameter - simple and efficient. Qualidisc Farmer models can be adjusted in two positions due to their rotating disc gangs.
With lateral adjustment for optimal use despite of wear.
Without lateral adjustment the soil surface will be uneven.

DISC
IMPECCABLE CUTTING QUALITY
EXCELLENT PENETRATION
Conical notched discs Due to the conical design of the disc, the attack angle is always fixed and the cutting angle always stays in the same position. Curved discs transport more soil and improve the mixing effect.
20% longer lifetime than a standard disc.
The discs of the first row ensure good penetration and prevent blockages. The second disc row is working offset and takes over the soil flow and plant residues of the first row. Optional star discs on each side instead of a discs moderate and regulates the soil flow to the sides. Notched discs work more aggressively, the penetration and self-rotation is improved e.g. ploughing up of grassland or for maize operations. Kverneland also offers a disc with big notches to enhance the rotation and self-cleaning especially in fluffy and sticky soil with more than 20% of clay. Small notches are kept to maintain the very good cutting quality.
Three disc-arrangement options for optimal drive and performance.

COMPONENTS
HIGH QUALITY
WITH LONG LASTING COMPONENTS
Light but strong disc arm Each disc is protected by a rubber shock system. If the disc hits an obstacle, the disc arm is able to move and the safety system works as a 3D auto-reset system. The profile of the arm prevents sideways movement in cutting position and ensures optimal penetration, even in stony and heavy soils. The cutting angle of the disc always stays in the same position. The special angled disc arm consists of an ellipse profile (Qualidisc Pro) which protects from wearing and the bearing of the soil flow. Maintenance-free bearings Each disc is mounted individually and follows the ground contour perfectly. The maintenance-free double ball bearings are exclusively developed for extreme soil conditions. The bearing has an O-ring on the disc side and 5 sealing lips on the opposite side. These protect against dust and water and minimising wear. The strong 35mm axle is able to carry heavy radial and axial loads. The bearing is fixed with screws and special washers to prevent from loosening. The bolt inside the arm is protected against soil. Qualidisc 21000 T Greasing points are minimised, and during operation all hydraulic cylinders are sealed shut during operation, with those for folding housed inside the tube. These design features serve to protect against dust. The rounded front and rear bars improve residue and soil flow in addition.

LEVELLING
PERFECT LEVELLING AND REGULATED SOIL FLOW
LEAVING AN EVEN SURFACE
In order to ensure an optimal soil flow and to create an even surface, Kverneland offers three tool options for both Qualidisc models. There are right and left hand side lateral parallelogram-guided side deflectors which follow the ground contours and control the soil flow. They are equipped with an abutment to limit the working depth especially at the end of the field (whilst reversing). On trailed models additional gauge wheels can be mounted in front of the discs to ensure better machine stability and a constant depth control during operation. When it comes to regulating the soil flow the finger harrow positioned just in front of the roller ensures that soil and residues stay longer in the working zones. The integrated finger harrow (400x10mm) prevents blockages of discs and rear roller and promotes the levelling of the soil. The fingers bent at the end allow a progressive soil flow without the need of higher power requirement. The fingers are overload protected to avoid damage in stony or other difficult conditions. Individual springs ensure individual release of the tines and keep levelling quality even in stony conditions. The angle of the harrow can be adjusted in aggressiveness for a perfect levelling result. The optional Clod Board in front of trailed machines increases the crumbling effect on ploughed land and ensures active levelling due to the high vibration of the cracker tines. The aggressiveness of the Clod Board can be adjusted hydraulically from the cab on the move. For first stubble cultivation the clod board bar can be easily set in the off position.

ADJUSTMENT
USER COMFORT IS KEY EASY ADJUSTMENT
Kverneland always focuses on safe operation and user comfort. With all the adjustments being done without the need for tools, a lot of precious time is saved!
Adjusting the Qualidisc is easily done. The depth is adjusted by hydraulic cylinders or optional manually on mounted models. Spacers or a locking device at a scale ensure precise depth adjustment. The Qualidisc requires minimal maintenance aside from occasional replacement of wearing parts.
No maintenance, best comfort.
Depth control Compact disc harrows require speed, but this can be a challenge in maintaining a constant working depth, especially with conical disc shapes. The depth control of the Kverneland Qualidisc implements is adjusted via the roller equipment. Weight is transferred to the discs through a locking bush or special lock valve in the hydraulic version. Depth adjustment is easily achieved by pivoting spacers, either manually (only on mounted models) or hydraulically. On the Qualidisc 21000 T, depth can be preset via the locking devices at the scales of the gauge wheels and rear roller, ensuring best balance at a consistent working depth. The heavy weight of the roller improves the penetration and maintains a constant working depth.

CONSOLIDATION
THE NEED FOR CONSOLIDATION FIRM SEEDBED
Rollers have been designed to ensure an efficient soil compaction and levelling either after harvest for an optimum germination of weeds or to reduce the soil porosity and limit evaporation in dry conditions.
The choice of the right roller depends on the soil type and conditions. Also the lifting capacity of the tractor needs to be considered when looking for the right combination.
The roller on a compact disc harrow is an elementary tool with different tasks: • Supporting the exact working depth of the machine especially in light conditions • Optimal soil to seed/root contact to enable efficient nutrient transfer • Breaking of clods in order to have a fine seedbed but at the same time keeping the soil structure for reduced soil erosion, as the soil is both structured and stable. • Improved drainage and water infiltration, especially important in wet years where a good, consolidated soil structure ensures access to plant root systems for water, air and nutrients • No separation or raising of straw and residues. Minimal moisture loss, especially important in dry years where crops which lack moisture suffer badly • Reliable working without stick of the soil surface by slipping. Easy maintenance and cleaning. Cracking performance.
Work done with an Actipack/ Actiring roller: left side skids lifted up (not active), right side skids down in action.

ROLLERS FOR ALL TYPE OF SOIL
Actipack Ø 560mm - 205kg/m • The Actipack roller displays its superb working qualities especially on medium to heavy soils and also in wet, stony and sticky conditions thanks to the independent skids and knives. • The cutting discs break the larger clods whilst the adjustable knives cut the remaining clods resulting in optimal clod breakdown and fine seedbed preparation.
Actiring ø 540mm - 160kg/m • The Actiring roller is a lighter variant of the Actipack, using the same frame structure and knife system. • The discs have been replaced by a “V” profile ring, saving 60kg/m, which is of critical importance for reducing lifting requirement for mounted equipment. • Actiring is not recommended in stony conditions.
Actiflex ø 580mm - 160kg/m • The Actiflex roller has been made to create an intensive mixing with all types of conditions, even stony ones. • The rings are made with spring steel to have a high resistance against stress at high speed. • Actiflex rings are separated by skids to prevent any accumulation inside the roller. • This roller is the ideal tool to create a nice seedbed and to enhance the weeds regrowth after harvesting.

A-DRILL
STUBBLING AND SEEDING IN ONE PASS
INTEGRATED SEEDER FOR COVER CROPS
The EU nitrate directive aims to protect water resources classed as vulnerable with 50mg nitrate/l. One of the measures considered to avoid nitrate leaching in the water source is the systematic coverage of soils by a vegetal cover in autumn. This cover will absorb nitrogen from the soil and air, and converts it into organic nitrogen compounds. The cover will then release nitrogen to the next crop (1/3), hereby improving soil structure and protecting it from erosion. An other item is the Carbon Farming, to sequestrate carbon in the soil e.g. by humification. Cover crops especially the roots produce additional biomass. a-drill 200 (200l) used for rather small seed rate and a-drill 500 (500l) preferred with higher seed rate (mix of seeds, grass, etc.) have been designed to meet a rapid implementation of cover crop during stubble operations while minimising costs. In addition, the a-drill can also be used for establishing rape seed or mixtures of different diameters seeds (leguminous plant, cruciferous, etc.).
The a-drill 200 & 500l can be equipped with two types of fan: electric recommended for small seeds and allowing seed rates of 4kg/min or hydraulic for rates up to 14kg/min.

F-DRILL DISTRIBUTION HEAD
STUBBLING AND SEEDING IN ONE PASS
WITH F-DRILL DISTRIBUTION HEAD
The Qualidisc Farmer and Pro, in mounted fold or trailed versions, can be equipped with an optional seed distribution system to maximise versatility. Combined with a front hopper such as the f-drill with ELDOS metering, seed is applied in one pass during soil cultivation.
The seed is accurately metered, reliably conveyed, and evenly distributed into the soil flow via a specially designed baffle plate. Depending on the selected configuration, application can take place in front of the rear roller or/and behind the roller into the soil flow of the rear finger harrow. This allows the different systems to be the perfect choice to varying soil conditions and seed sizes agronomic requirement. In wetter or heavier soil conditions, the rear application into the soil flow of the finger harrow ensures better aerated and gently covered, reducing the risk of smearing or compaction. When equipped with two distribution heads, higher seed rates can be applicated with the “duo” system. With the splitted front hopper “plus”, two different seed types/sizes can be applied in one pass e.g. the bigger seed needs more consolidation and is applied in front of the roller, the smaller into the soil flow of the rear finger harrow to be at the soil surface.
This makes Qualidisc a flexible all-in-one solution, combining cultivation and seeding to save time, fuel, and costs while delivering optimal agronomic results.

MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY AND BALANCE
The Kverneland front hopper f-drill as seed hopper increase capacity and performance. The modular structure of the f-drill together with the Qualidisc model ensure even weight distribution across the machine arrangement, giving the tractor maximum balance. This protects the soil structure, improves safety and manoeuvrability, and provides excellent visibility. The f-drill is available in two sizes: compact (1,600 l) and maxi (2,200 l) , both equipped with the electric ELDOS metering system. The standard version uses one metering unit, the duo version allows higher application rates up to 600 kg/ha with two units, and the plus version with a hopper split of 60:40 enables simultaneous application of two seed types. A wide hopper opening allows easy filling, while a sealed two-part cover protects against dust and water. Internal sieves protect the metering system, and all key components are easily accessible. A radar sensor ensures accurate application rates, and an integrated platform supports safe filling and maintenance.

Easy conversion from working to transport position. The two-part hydraulic folding on the models from 4.0 to 7.0m give a transport width of max. 2.75m. The Qualidisc 21000 T is folded as wallet system and received a transport width of 2.95m. The hydraulic suspension ensures smooth running and safe road transport. The trailed Qualidisc models are homologated at 40km/h or 25km/h, depending on each country’s regulations. * Thanks to the smart design of the rear axle of the Kverneland Qualidisc T, more weight is transferred to the tractor hitch, resulting in a reduced axle load. For five trailed models, this axle load remains now under 3.5 tonnes, making them eligible for EU homologation without the need for a braking system. Please consult your dealer for more details! * see local road regulations.

Tackling blackgrass head-on
With blackgrass becoming more difficult to control, Bradley Farm at Cumnor near Oxford, has opted for the Qualidisc Farmer to create stale seedbeds between harvest and autumn drilling. “As a high-speed shallow cultivator to encourage a flush of weeds, the Qualidisc is a really useful piece of kit,” says operator Martin Rockall, who runs the 950-acre farming operation for his em- ployer, the Bowden family. “The Qualidisc really does encourage a lot of growth.” Growing winter wheat, spring barley, maize, grass, stubble turnips and mustard – the latter as a cover crop - the farm operates a mix of min-till and rotational ploughing. And winter ploughing suits spring-sown cereals and maize. “Our soils range from sand to heavy clay, so we need to make full use of different cultivations systems combined with sprays, to stay on top of grass weed control across the farm,” he says.
“If time allows between, I’ll make two passes with the Qualidisc then spray ahead of the drill,” he adds. “But there’s only me doing fieldwork at Bradley Farm, so I have to choose kit that is going to be productive and efficient.” “There is space between the discs to deal with any amount of trash and stubble. It sets up the seedbeds really well for cereal drilling, for which I use a 4.0m Kverneland s-drill and NG-S power harrow combination. And I also have a 6.0m ts-drill for stubble turnips,
mustard and grass seed,” he adds. Supplied by Lister Wilder, the 4.0m hydraulically folding Qualidisc affords good output from a high forward speed, while encouraging a flush of volunteers and weeds, post-harvest. Yet the cultivator is equally as competent at deeper work, ahead of maize drilling, as Martin explains. “We plough through winter, ahead of maize, to let the weather help us on heavier soils,” he says. “And then I’ll run the Qualidisc through but at a much deeper setting ahead of the maize drill. This loosens the soil nicely, while leaving a firm finish on top for the drill.”

QUALIDISC 1100 L
LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMPACT
Kverneland Qualidisc 1100 L, the lightweight mounted compact disc harrow for shallow stubble cultivation and seedbed preparation. Its compact design makes the Qualidisc 1100 L ideal for farms with small to medium-sized fields or special operations like in orchards, and for tractors with lower horsepower starting from 45hp. The Qualidisc 1100 L is available in two working widths of 1.75m and 2.25m. It features the proven specially hardened Ø520mm discs, ensuring excellent soil penetration and reliable mixing. As with all Qualidisc models, each disc is mounted on a single arm with rubber protection, allowing lateral movements like a 3D auto-reset system. The discs work independently arranged with 25cm spacing in each row which is providing an effective overlap of 12.5cm across the two rows for optimal soil coverage and residue incorporation. For safe and efficient transport, the roller can be turned upwards, which significantly reduces the overall length of the machine and lowering the lifting capacity required. This design not only improves road safety but also enhances manoeuvrability during headland turns. The Qualidisc 1100 L offers easy side deflector adjustment and simple working depth setting, either mechanically optionally hydraulically via spacers. Maintenance is minimal with only one grease point. Deflectors, rollers, star discs or big notched discs are available as optional equipment. Its lightweight and compact design makes it ideal for low-horsepower tractors from 45hp, ensuring fuel-efficient soil preparation. Robust construction and low-maintenance design guarantee reliability and reduced operating costs.
